Those fat “cat” producers better be careful, these birds get serious when their meal breaks are threatened!
Welcome to
The Bird Theater
From the bird brains that brought you Bird Library, comes a new dramatic venture, The Bird Theater! Inspired by the historic Byrd Theater in Richmond, Virginia, our bird theater/bird feeder brings you today’s flyest thespians working in avian theatrical arts. Born of a pandemic, Cwalina and Flowers have developed a way for theatre lovers, that have been denied performances due to theater closures, to continue to enjoy live theater from the comfort of their living rooms, home offices, and virtual classrooms. Covid has devastated the theater community and put actors, designers, technicians, stagehands, dancers, choreographers, artists, and theater staff out of work. We hope you enjoy our birdie broadway and continue to support live entertainment. Now, on with the bird show!

Ghost Light

In the world of theater, a ghost light is part superstition and part safety feature. When a theater is dark, a single bulb lights the stage to prevent anyone from falling off. However, it is also believed that the light either keeps ghosts within a theater happy, or possibly scares them away. During COVID, while theaters have been closed, the ghost light has become a symbol of hope, that soon we will gather together and experience live theater.
The Bird Theater is our way of sharing live theater, by producing shows, with the talents of birds in our own backyard. Follow us for the everyday drama and humor of these feathered thespians and receive updates on upcoming performances.
